Before explaining how reiki helped my business, I think I should explain what reiki actually is in case you’ve never heard of it.
Reiki Australia describes it as “a non-invasive, gentle, yet powerful method of healing. Reiki energy, (often described as “universal life energy” or “spiritual energy”) is accessed by the practitioner during a treatment. It enhances the body’s natural healing ability and promotes well-being.”
I have to admit that I didn’t really know what it was or what to expect. I was also a little bit skeptical but as someone who’s open-minded, I totally embraced the opportunity and went into it with my eyes and heart wide open.
Reiki isn’t something that I would have sought out, simply because I was unfamiliar with it so I was lucky when Amanda from Inspire Natural Therapies reached out for help in our mastermind group.
She needed some website work done as her web girl was unavailable and I put my hand up. Although web work isn’t normally my business, I do know my way around WordPress quite well.
Amanda wanted to do something in return so she offered me a distance Reiki session and oh boy, I was sold right after the first one. Amanda told me that I could either go about my day like any other, or I could make myself comfortable with some candles, crystals and mediation. I planned on doing the latter but completely forgot on the day so I went about my day like it was a normal day.
After an hour of distance healing, Amanda called me to discuss what had come up and it was almost creepy how accurately she described how I was feeling and what came through for her. It was like she had stepped right inside of me and knew where I was at energy wise. It probably sounds a little creepy, but honestly it was extremely liberating to have someone understand how I was feeling.
Amanda sent healing my way and things slowly started to shift after that first session.
We have since had two more sessions and I can tell that the difference is like day and night from when we first started. In my first session, Amanda noted that I had frustrations that were due to feeling stuck. She was absolutely spot on, I had been feeling quite stuck in my business and felt frustrated because it felt like I had reached a certain level and I wasn’t going any further. In our second session, even more blocks and frustrations surfaced and I experienced some very powerful shifts and emotions that day. After the second session things really started to move and I felt like things were starting to happen in my business, I was getting more traction, more confidence, and less of the ‘I’m not good enough’ feelings.
Our third, and for the time being last, session was a lot more colourful and cheerful. Massive shifts had taken place and I am moving forward with confidence and revived energy. It was such a beautiful, but at the same time confronting, experience and I now know which parts of me I need to nurture and look after so that I won’t fall back into ‘stuckness’. I also know that this wasn’t my last Reiki session and I’m actually curious to learn how I can practise Reiki myself. Not in a commercial way, but as a self-healing tool.
So, how has reiki helped my business?
Before I had Reiki, I had been feeling stuck, not knowing how to move forward. I had sort of reached a plateau in my business and couldn’t seem to get past it and get further ahead in business. With Reiki it was not only revealed why I was feeling that way (partly due to fear of not being good enough) but Amanda used her healing powers to help me clear the blocks and move past them.
It doesn’t mean that I’m healed forever, it means that I now have the awareness and the tools to keep up the ‘maintenance’ so to speak and not fall back into old ways and getting stuck again. So in a nutshell, Reiki has helped me heal in a way that allows me to move forward in my business with confidence and new energy and it has given me tools to look after myself so that I know what to do in the future.
