Wow, can you believe that this is it? It’s the end of another year?! It’s really true what they say, about time going faster the older you get.
This year has been an amazing one. It’s officially marked as the year I officially started my social media & marketing coaching business. I know right, it feels like I’ve been doing this for much longer but nope, this baby is turning 1 soon.
In 2014, I wrote 58 blog posts, 51 email newsletters, joined and met some amazing ladies online (Roooar, Women in Business, BHB, Creative Womens Circle), delivered 2 webinars (with many more to come in 2015), ran the Ostrich Guide to Social Media with a small but amazing class of 5, joined Leonie Dawson’s amazing biz and life academy, started the e-course launch formula, doubled my mailing list and doubled it again, have an amazing group of Facebook followers and a super duper amazing group of coaching clients. Phew, what a year!
The lovely Anna at Design with Style listed her top 10 gratitude moments for 2014 and I was so inspired by this, so I made my own list.
Here we go, my top 10 gratitude moments for 2014:
My business – I’m super grateful for having the courage to starting my own business in coaching and the wonderful people I have worked with and met throughout my journey this year. I’m grateful for the flexibility it gives me, being able to work from home and plan my days the way I want. Thank you business, thank you universe!
My beautiful office – This one might seem a little bit weird but after years of working at the dining table or in little cubicles, I’m so grateful for having an office with a window, a space that I have made my own (even though I share it sometimes with my love) and for our super rad custom made desk. It is seriously awesome.
Hawaii – This one is on Anna’s list too, and no we didn’t go together. In fact, we’ve only just met. Earlier in 2014 my love and I had our first holiday together and although the destination was not something he originally picked (long story short: I had booked it ages in advance with my ex, so we just changed the ticket and off we went) we had an amazing time. It was so nice to be away, enjoy time together, do things we both love and generally just relax. It’s Hawaii, what’s not to like about it?!
My love – We celebrated our one year together in August and although we haven’t been together for that long (in some people’s opinion), we just know that we’re right for each other. I love spending time with him, we enjoy cooking together, taking the dogs for a walk, pottering in the garden, going camping and generally just being around each other. Love you Rich!
Home – Every day I’m grateful for living in such a wonderful part of the world. Some find it far (we live 40kms from Melbourne) but we love leaving the city behind us, driving home through the countryside, seeing kangaroos. I love it here.
Work travel – Over the past year I’ve had to travel a few times for work. Yup, I still work whilst I’m building my business. During these trips I’ve really enjoyed the time I had to reflect on what I was doing, what I want from life, how to move forward etc. It’s amazing what you can do on a 4 hour flight to Perth without any distractions. I love traveling, even though I do find traveling for work slightly overrated, and these trips have been really good for some soul searching and getting clarity.
Friends & new friends – With all of us living on different sides of the city it can be quite challenging, but we always make the effort to have monthly catch-ups. I see friends who live closer a bit more and it has been so nice to catch up for lunches and just get away from it all for a few hours. This year has also been about making new friends. Through joining masterminds and e-courses I feel like I have gained a whole new group of friends, even though we have never met. It’s so good to share a journey with people who are on the same path!
Our boys – Do I need to say more? They’re just the cutest two pups ever! When we finally made the decision to bring puppies into our lives we set out to find and meet our pups. Our Italian greyhound Jonny is 3 months older than our whippet Nairo and because I wanted to bring them home at the same time, we had to wait a while… it felt like forever, but on 11 October they joined us and we love them to bits!
The little things – Sometimes we just keep going and going without paying attention to the little things. Or we take things for granted. It’s so important to not only be grateful for the big things, but also for the little things because when you add them up they are big! The little things I enjoyed in 2014 were spending lots of time with my love, going for a walk, cooking dinners together, my hot water bottle, a cup of tea, sunshine, a bunch of flowers, clean sheets and chats with my family.
Growing myself – In the past year I have started, completed and said goodbye to a number of personal growth opportunities. Sometimes I feel like I’m not moving forward but then when I look back I realise how far I have actually come. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to learn every day and to grow myself. In 2014 I had business coaching sessions and joined the Amazing Biz & Life Academy, the Coaching Blueprint, the Roooar Dream BIG community and the e-course Launch Formula which have all been amazing and have contributed to my personal growth.
Next year even more exciting things are going to happen, I can’t wait!
